pampeano's Highlights of The Year 2023

It’s nearly the end of the year, and a lot of people will not only be setting themselves New Year’s resolutions, but also reflecting on the year just gone: and we’re no different. With this journal entry, we are looking back on our year here at pampeano, and the highlights that we will look back on fondly for many years to come. So come with us, and take a look back at the year that was 2023.

Firstly, 2023 was a big year for pampeano, as it was our 15th anniversary. To celebrate, we created a brand new polo inspired pampeano belt: the Edicion XV. It was a gorgeous limited edition belt designed with light blue, rich brown and cream threading. We made just 100 of these exclusive belts, which were hand debossed in gold foil with numbers 1 – 100. They sold out extremely quickly: if you were able to get your hands on one of these special belts, we hope you’ve enjoyed wearing it this year!

For everyone, 2023 was a year in which the importance of sustainability became ever more evident. To do our part, we took steps to decrease our carbon footprint, and become a more sustainable business. We already had several practises which helped us reduce our impact on the environment: for example, our vegetable tanning process is much better for the environment than the chemical tanning most mass producers of belts use. But we are always striving for better, and so this year, in 2023, we took the step to make all of our packaging completely plastic free. We are all trying our best not to use single use plastics, so it was a no brainer to make all of our packaging plastic free.

Along the lines of going green, another highlight for us personally at pampeano HQ was getting out there in our local area and planting some fruit trees on some nearby farmland. It was a lot of fun, and very nice to get out into the fresh air and connect with the nature that inspires so many of our products. We can’t wait to see how the trees grow, and we’ll be sure to return regularly to make sure they’re growing well. We’d like to thank Gibson’s Organic for allowing us to plant our trees on their land in West Oxfordshire.

Another highlight of 2023 was the number of bespoke belts we were able to produce. As well as designing our own range of beautiful belts, we love to work with clients to execute their vision and get creative. We work with universities, schools, sports teams, companies, and more, to create belts and other bespoke products in colours significant to them. This year alone, we created hundreds of bespoke belts, which was most definitely a highlight.

It’s always nice to be recognised, so of course one of our highlights of 2023 was to be featured as the front page story in Oxfordshire Living magazine. Our products are often featured in lifestyle magazines and newspapers in their gift guides and featured product sections, but on this occasion Oxfordshire Living interviewed our founder, Jennifer Brown, all about pampeano and our ethos. It’s well worth a read if you can get your hands on a copy.

All in all, it’s been a very busy year here at pampeano, and it’s looking like next year is going to be just as exciting. We hope your 2023 has been just as fun, and we wish you a happy new year!
