A history in the community
In 1935, FRS Countrywear was born, near a beautiful town called Bridgnorth in Shropshire. They provided the local community with tack and riding related items. These came from those already invested in this favourite country pursuit. To this day, it is the shared enthusiasm between FRS Countrywear and their clients which ensures its lasting success.
This authentic, long standing British countrywear shop is also a family business, and bestinthecountry.co.uk is now in its third generation. Fantastic customer service here comes from the knowledge and passion of a family who have a deep understanding of the local area and the needs of their clients. Shooting, fishing, riding and walking are all provided for, so whatever your outdoor hobby, there is a high-quality, hand selected piece for you with a dedicated team on hand to advise.
bestinthecountry.co.uk has its origins in the equestrian community in beautiful Shropshire.
pampeano and British countrywear
Here at bestinthecountry.co.uk, you will find a selection of some of the best polo belts from pampeano. One of our hand-stitched polo belts is the perfect, eye-catching accent to go with British countrywear staples such as your Barbour jacket or riding trousers. The traditionally neutral and dark colours which we associate with outdoor jackets, wellingtons and tweed can have new life with the addition of a polo belt.
So head to bestinthecountry.co.uk, where you will find four of the best. They have named the pampeano polo belt as ‘the must have accessory’. Each belt has a personality. By clicking on your favourite below, you can read its story and discover the inspiration behind its design.
How is a polo belt made?
An expert craftsman stitches each belt by hand. He uses richly coloured, wax-dipped saddlery threads to create vibrant pampa diamond designs. Each of these designs is an original creation. Designs are a take on the traditional depictions of the Andes Mountains which provided us with so much inspiration in La Pampa, where we have our roots. Here in the heart of South America, the winning combination of authentic, expert craftsmanship and a world-renowned prowess in equestrian pursuits makes each polo belt a true work of art.
the Jefe, with a smart navy and brown design inspired by the chief gaucho on the ranch.
with wonderfully contrasting rusty red and inky navy threads, the Marcado is a stand-out piece.
a Multi encompasses the wonderful natural elements of the South American lifestyle. Threads of sky blue, racing green, sandy yellow, red and deep navy.
the Dulce, lovely and sweet with candy pink, cream and deep navy threads.
The well-travelled belt
Each one of our belts is handmade, and will therefore be totally unique to you. Local craftsmen in central Argentina use traditional handstitching, learnt from generations of skilled artisans before them. They themselves are truly the best in the country. The undeniable quality of our belts is down to their origin in a part of the world steeped in a rich heritage of artisanal leathercraft and outdoor equestrian pursuits. The buttery soft Argentinian leather is thick but supple. As a result, it will mould to your own body the more you wear it. The individual way in which your leather wears becomes a pattern that is particular to you. The marks and colours of a well-travelled belt become a map of the adventures of the owner. Each belt has started its journey in the heart of South America, where will you take it?
